Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Organizational Behavior
Graduate School of Business,
Columbia University

The Organizational Behavior Group of the Management Division of the Columbia Business School seeks applicants for a one-year postdoctoral fellowship, with the possibility of renewal for a second year. The Fellow will conduct research in collaboration with one or more members of the OB faculty, who include Joel Brockner, Ido Erev, Frank Flynn, Sheena Iyengar, Michael Morris, and Elke Weber. The group's research interests focus on the social-psychological and cognitive underpinnings of (managerial) judgment, behavior, and performance, with a strong interest in cross-cultural investigations of psychological processes. The OB group maintains a close working relationship with the Department of Psychology (sponsoring, for example, the Social-Psych-Network) and the new Columbia Center for the Decision Sciences.

Responsibilities also include teaching two sections of an MBA course in the Fellow's area of interest or expertise (e.g., leadership, organizational behavioral and decision making, small group processes, or managerial negotiations).

Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in psychology or a related discipline. Their research experience should demonstrate the ability to conduct research effectively. We particularly seek candidates who complement, bridge, and combine the OB group's research interests described above.

Compensation will be commensurable to skill level, ranging from $45,000 to $55,000. A small research/travel budget is also available. The Columbia appointment provides health care benefits and eligibility for University Housing. The target starting date, September 1, 2000, is flexible. Applications will be accepted until August 1.

Please send a covering letter, curriculum vitae, one or two (p)reprints, teaching evaluations of previously taught courses, and three letters of recommendation to:
