We are currently seeking a Research Scientist – Consumer Science Insights for our Trumbull, Connecticut, location.
Unilever, a global leader in home and personal care sectors with brands ranging from Dove and Axe to Ben & Jerry’s and Lipton, seeks a full-time researcher with a background in experimental psychology. The research position would entail leading human perception understanding for skin care or cleansing projects within the Consumer Science Insights (CSI) group.
The researcher is expected to draw from various psychological subdisciplines (i.e., social, cognitive, developmental, neuro-, psychophysics) to impact project objectives and interface effectively with Marketing and R&D groups (e.g., materials science, bioscience, measurement science, and clinical). The work also entails focused technical collaborations with CSI team members, seminal external academics and researchers to realize project goals, conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications. This research position also involves networking with key Unilever contacts worldwide, including potential travel abroad, to coordinate project activities and illuminate research designs with a global perspective.
Specifically, the desired candidate has:
(1) a Ph.D. in experimental psychology or related field
(2) demonstrated depth and breadth across sub-areas of psychology via research/publications
(3) strong quantitative modeling skills
(4) 2-3 years experience in industry post-Ph.D. (preferred)
