The Macalester College Psychology Department seeks candidates for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Diversity Science (with a specific focus on race/ethnicity and racism; area of psychology open) for appointment in the fall term of 2018. Responsibilities include teaching intermediate and advanced level courses in area of specialization and maintaining an active program of research. The typical teaching load is five courses per year.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in psychology. We seek dedicated teachers, and we particularly encourage applications from candidates who can alternate with other instructors in teaching the research methodology and statistics sequence. In addition, preference will be given to scholars who can engage undergraduate students in their research; excellent start-up funds and lab facilities will be provided.

The person appointed to this position will have the opportunity to contribute to a multicultural curriculum and to participate in interdisciplinary research and teaching in such areas as American Studies, Community and Global Health, Educational Studies, Urban Studies, and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.
